Newcastle | Residents’ bus service to continue despite Library closure
Though the doors have closed on Jesmond Library today as the council  cuts its funding, residents have been reassured that their community bus service will continue through to at least the end of the year despite  the closure.  Passengers feared the service would stop but plans have  been announced to take passengers to Byker library instead.

Volunteers could be enlisted to run Caistor Library under plans being considered by the county council. But Caistor councillor Tony Turner has declared he will fight “tooth and nail” to  save the facility.
