  • Voices for the Library (in a new window) a site set up by librarians to advocate the value of and good things done by libraries. Not affiliated with any of the bodies below.
  • Tim Coates (in a new window) sometimes controversial blog by ex-bookseller and publisher but also library supporter, Tim Coates.
  • CILIP (in a new window) The Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals – the professional body for librarians in the UK.
  • DCMS (in a new window) The Department for Culture Media and Sport is reponsible for libraries in England.
  • MLA (in a new window) The Museums, Libraries and Archives Council the quango (sorry – non-departmental public body) rpoviding advice to libraries of all types in England
  • CyMAL (in a new window) Museums, libraries and Archives: Wales – the Welsh counterpart of MLA
  • UNISON (in a new window) is the trade union which organises most library staff.
  • LGIU (in a new window) The Local Government Information Unit ‘provides support to councils and champions democracy’. It is funded by local authorities and trade unions
  • Libraryweb (in a new window) a site maintained by a Campaign member with all sorts of interesting library related stuff.
